This policy explains what personal data the website collects, why it collects it, and how that data is kept safe. The website respects your privacy and follows the GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP).

3. What the website collects

What is held depends on how you use the site.

From the contact form — when you write in:

your name
your e-mail address
your message

Technical data — the server and security software log this automatically when you visit:

IP address
browser type and version
operating system and device

Usage statistics — anonymous, aggregated figures about how the site is used (see section 6). This is collected without cookies and can’t be traced back to you.

4. Why the website collects it

Your data is used only to:

reply to what you send through the contact form
keep the site working and secure
see, in aggregate, how the site is used, so it can be improved
meet legal obligations

5. Legal basis

Necessity and legitimate interest — to answer your message, and to keep the site secure, working, and measured in a privacy-friendly way.
Legal obligation — where the law requires it.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interest at any time (see section 9).

6. Services the website uses

Hosting. The site runs on servers in the European Union (Belgium). The hosting provider processes technical data, such as server logs and IP addresses, to deliver and secure the site.

Statistics (Burst). The website measures how the site is used with Burst Statistics. It runs on the website’s own server, not a third party’s, and in its most private setting:

it uses no cookies and stores no IP address;
it creates no browser fingerprint;
visitors are counted with an anonymised value that can’t be traced back to you.

Because it stores no personal data and shares nothing with anyone, it needs no consent.

Contact form. What you send is used only to reply to you.

Collected: your name, e-mail address, and message.
Basis: necessity — to answer you.
Your message arrives by e-mail and is also stored in the website’s database. It is kept for up to 12 months after your last contact, then deleted.

Fonts. The site’s fonts are hosted on its own server. No data goes to Google or any other font provider.

Security (Wordfence). To protect the site against abuse and attacks, the security software may briefly process technical data such as IP addresses. The basis is a legitimate interest in keeping the site safe.

7. Cookies

The site uses only strictly necessary cookies — for example to remember your cookie choice, keep the site secure, and support logged-in administrators. It uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. You’ll find the details in the Cookie Policy.

8. How long data is kept

Data is kept only as long as it is needed:

contact messages: up to 12 months after your last contact;
server and security logs: a limited period, in line with the host’s standard retention;
cookies: as set out in the Cookie Policy.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR and Swiss law, you can:

see the personal data held about you
correct anything that’s wrong
ask for it to be deleted
object to processing based on legitimate interest
ask for a copy to take elsewhere

10. Sending data abroad

Your data stays within Switzerland and the European Economic Area. It is not transferred to other countries to run this site.

11. How your data is protected

The website uses sensible technical and organisational measures: hosting over an encrypted (SSL/TLS) connection, limited access to personal data, and regular software and security updates.
